It was supposed to be a search for one of Mexico City's most famous ghost stories. Instead, it ended with nine young people being rescued from a ravine in the darkness of Chapultepec Forest. The group, aged between 17 and 20, had entered the Third Section of the forest while searching for the legendary Casa de la Tía Toña — better known in English as Aunt Toña's House. At some point during the night, they became lost among the area's steep ravines. One member of the group contacted the C2 Poniente command centre for help, prompting an emergency operation involving Mexico City's police and firefighters. Even alleged remains collected from remote parts of the Himalayas have been subjected to genetic analysis in an attempt to answer one of the world's most enduring questions: is there really an unknown animal hiding in the mountains of Asia? In 2017, researchers examined nine specimens that had been presented as possible remains of the legendary Yeti, or Abominable Snowman. The samples included bone, tooth, skin, hair and faecal material collected in the Himalayas and Tibetan Plateau.
