Aunt Toña's House: Nine Ghost Hunters Were Rescued Searching for Mexico's Haunted Legend
It was supposed to be a search for one of Mexico City's most famous ghost stories. Instead, it ended with nine young people being rescued from a ravine in the darkness of Chapultepec Forest. The group, aged between 17 and 20, had entered the Third Section of the forest while searching for the legendary Casa de la Tía Toña — better known in English as Aunt Toña's House. At some point during the night, they became lost among the area's steep ravines. One member of the group contacted the C2 Poniente command centre for help, prompting an emergency operation involving Mexico City's police and firefighters. Rescuers eventually located the group in a ravine near Circuito Joaquín Clausell and Calle 10. The young people were guided out of the forest and did not require medical treatment.
